Consistency, determination, and rock-solid relationships are the keys that Holly Meyer Lucas attributes to her unlocked success in real estate. As the founder of the Jupiter area’s top producing Meyer Lucas Team at Compass, Holly is known for her niche as the go-to REALTOR® for the area’s professional athletes and the real estate leader who doesn’t quite fit the traditional luxury real estate agent mold.

While real estate wasn’t always on Holly’s radar as a career, the University of Tennessee alum admits that her career in real estate chose her more than she chose it. “Before the age of 25, I had moved over thirty times in my life. I was born in the United States but grew up in Germany. I went to five different high schools, and then as a student-athlete (soccer), I transferred between four different colleges. To say I am very good at being ‘the new kid’ would be an understatement.” After graduating from college, Holly began a career traveling across the country selling IT solutions to hospital laboratories. In 2011 when she met her future husband, Ed Lucas – a professional baseball player for the Atlanta Braves at the time – she quickly realized that her traveling sales career and Ed’s baseball career weren’t aligned long term, especially for having a family. Her life experiences – moving, sales, and the baseball wife life – merged beautifully together, and her career as a REALTOR®, with a sports and entertainment niche, was born in 2015.

Excelling in Real Estate

Holly formed The Meyer Lucas Team within her first year of real estate, after recognizing her passion for leadership and the power of having a team versus being a single agent. “I was constantly going out of my way to help other agents with their deals, even as new as I was myself. I genuinely care about others succeeding and lifting my peers up, which has always been part of my DNA.”

Her first listing appointment also highlighted her need for a team. When she kept referring to “we” instead of “me” with the seller, she came back to the office and realized she needed a “we.” Holly hired a new agent to join her team. “It took off from there,” smiles Holly. “My team has grown to 14 agents plus a robust support staff. The thing that makes my team unique is our back office, which is second to none. They’re the best in the business when it comes to supporting the agents.” Since 2015, her team has closed over 500 transactions and sold $400 mil - lion in real estate.

A League of Her Own

As the wife of a former professional baseball player and current Major League Baseball coach, Holly is used to moving around the nation for her husband’s career. Over the course of 18 seasons, he played for the Royals, Braves, Marlins, Rangers, Diamondbacks, Mariners, Phillies, Brewers, and Giants.

“Having moved so many times for both Ed’s career and mine, the REALTOR® life was a natural fit for me. I realized that my life experiences gave me a well-trained eye for real estate and a thorough appreciation for the stresses that come with moving - whether across town or across the country.”

In 2018, Holly pitched the idea of opening Compass’ first Palm Beach office to Compass CEO Robert Reffkin, and to her surprise, he agreed. Today she is Compass’ Founding Agent in Palm Beach County and a Principal with Compass’ Sports & Entertainment Division. Now a nationally recognized expert in working with professional athletes in the Jupiter area, Holly exceeds expectations with her business acumen, ability to get things done quickly and be readily accessible to her clients. Working with professional athletes’ financial advisors comes naturally to Holly, who handles numbers and negotiations with ease.

“Athletes come to me in two different ways,” explains Holly. “They’re either in my sphere and are my friends or their agents, and financial advisors reach out to me. Whether a financial advisor, business manager, or sports agent, those relationships are worth their weight in gold. For example, it doesn’t matter if my husband played with AJ Ramos – one of my favorite and longest clients – I had to prove myself to his agent and his financial advisor first, and then get past them again and again if AJ is doing any real estate. That is the hard part, and that is why you hire me. I know what is going to fly and what isn’t. Those guys are very good at their jobs and are in their positions with these athletes for a reason. I have deep, mutually respectful relationships like these across the entire industry.”

The off-season is short, and Holly understands the need to be ready. Holly explains, “The sports seasons are small and usually flanked by holidays. Most players want to have their off-season home secured by the mid-season mark (July in base - ball for the MLB All-Star Break).” That’s where Holly and her team aim to please.

No request is too small. Holly has gone to homes for FaceTime tours, being the eyes of the athlete. “My clients don’t buy sight unseen or scent unseen,” she says. “They have us to evaluate and, if I don’t trust my own nose or eyes, I have a whole team behind me to make sure we can say with confidence that the home is indeed a fit.” Holly has done it all – listened and evaluated road-noise, scoped the level of privacy from the driveway, even gone into a neighbor’s house to see the vantage point from a second story to privacy. Those details make the difference, and Holly is the expert.

A home is a refuge and a sanctuary for athletes, away from fans and the emotional drain of life. Holly makes sure that deals happen and goes the extra mile to make sure that requests are met, placing her in a league of her own.

“I become a total concierge for our clients – both the athletes and non,” says Holly. “If they want to join a golf course or buy a boat, I make it happen. The ability to move fast and provide resources that families care about is so important. Everyone is short on time these days, and the athletes are extra strapped for time.” Holly has worked with over 100 professional athletes and is shy to reveal names. “It’s pretty Googleable if you must know, but it’s not my place to name drop. They are usually pretty kind about giving us our props publicly, though, which is always nice.”

Leading the Way Through Data

Holly’s team has a method to their madness, coined the Meyer Lucas Method, which she developed three years ago. “It’s our secret sauce,” she says. “The Meyer Lucas Method is a precise process that we have, no matter what agent you’re working with on my team.” This innovative method consists of 72 consistent steps to listing a luxury home. Each step is driven by a defined team member and developed from data collected from previously closed transactions.

“We’ve closed over 500 transactions and have data from every single one,” says Holly. Every decision is strategic, including determining the main photo of the home.

If online traffic isn’t resonating with potential buyers, a photo may change to increase online traffic. “We are constantly pivoting and changing what buyers see online if the data is telling us that it’s not landing,” she says.

Her team’s logo – the Meyer lemon – can be found all over Jupiter if you’re looking for a home. The use of a lemon was a stra - tegic branding decision she made years ago as a nod to her maiden name, Meyer, and because she wanted a fun, fresh logo and was also an emoji. Her team is dubbed the “lemonheads” locally, and clients are gifted Meyer lemon-branded gifts through - out the year.

Active Interests

When Holly isn’t selling homes, you can find her with her family. She and Ed mar - ried in 2013 and are blessed with three children: Rhodes (7), Brooks (5), and Desi (8 months). Holly enjoys playing in an adult recre - ational soccer team with women from all walks of life to unwind. “It’s super fun,” she says. “I also like going out on the water with my family and fishing,” adds Holly. “There’s so much to do in Jupiter.”
