The Compound Effect written by Darren Hardy, introduces “the principle of reaping huge rewards from a series of small, smart choices,” known as The Compound Effect. Hardy explains that choices, habits, momentum, influences and acceleration all go into The Compound Effect. This book is a Meyer Lucas Team favorite!
Hardy states, our everyday choices compound into our life outcomes, good or bad. Instead of living your life in autopilot it is important to start making conscious decisions within your life and track those everyday decisions. Track how many leads you followed up with each day and set conscious goals to grow your business. The sooner you start to make these conscious everyday decisions the sooner you will see the results.
It is important to check in on our habits, what are your habits when you get a new lead? Are these good habits? Should you be doing more or something different? If you start implementing good habits into your daily routine it will become automatic over time. Identifying a motivator for why you need to change your habits is key. Hardy states focusing what good habits will add instead of focusing on what you might be loosing is extremely important! Hardy explains that gaining momentum will help push through the struggle to maintain these new habits.
Exposing yourself to a positive environment, controlling the information you absorb and your associations all influence the compound effect. Hardy cites a study which states that the people we associate with could determine up to 95% of our success or failure in life.
